Frequently Asked Questions

About Sessions

Do I need to do anything before a session?

The suggestions I usually give are to bring a bottle of water in case you get thirsty, try to relax, meditate, or focus on being mindfull of how you feel for a few minutes before leaving your house or after you safetly parked your car. Please do not perform any of these while your focus is needed elsewhere, for example while driving. The goal of these are to bring you into the moment, so the stress or mental clutter from the day will not interfere with your session. These are only suggestions and there are no actions required before a session.

Do I need to do anything during a session?

The session will begin after we've talked at the beginning of our appointment and last up until a few minutes before the session ends. Doing it this way will give us some time to review anything you would like to discuss.

For in person sessions there I have a chair with a tall back and a massage table available.

For distance sessions, I suggest that people lay down or sit on a bed, couch, chair, or anywhere you will be comfortable, safe, and able to relax. Because you may fall asleep during a session I suggest you find proper support, so if you slide down or fall over, you won't be hurt. You may also want a blanket near by in case you get cold.

What might I experience during a session?

Sessions can be as different for each person as night and day. Some people feel energized after a session while others may feel more relaxed and calm emotionally. People have described their sessions by seeing animals, colors, or other things while feeling warm, cold, or like they are slightly vibrating. There are many other visual, audio, or physical sensations that can be seen, heard, or felt but what is listed above were more common. I will also share if I saw, felt, or heard anything.

If you have any questions or concerns about if a session is right for you, I encourage you to reach out to me with any questions you may have. You can also go to your doctor and have a full discussion before making an appointment with me.

Do I need to do anything after a session?

Take the time you need to feel comfortable before making big movements. You can write down if you experienced something in a journal for your records. Some people are thirsty, hungry, or tired. Pay attention to how you feel and follow your best judgment for what you would like to do.

About Classes

Are individual classes available as well as group classes?

Yes, Group and individual classes are available. The cost for individual classes will be slightly higher than groups because it will be roughly the same amount of time to prepare and teach each class. For the practice part of class, you will be able to bring someone with you who you can practice on. If you would prefer I can bring someone with me who you can practice on instead.

Do I get a certificate at the end of each class?

I give certificates for each level of Reiki at the end of class, provided you are able to perform Reiki on yourself, another student or me.

Do I need to bring anything to class?

Classes can be 5 to 6 hours with breaks so you will need to bring any food or water you want in a temperature controlled bag. I do not have access to a refridgerator for storing items. I will provide notebooks, pens, and a binder to store the printed Reiki manual in.

Testimonials

Why was I sent a request to provide a testimonial and what type of information should I include?

You were sent a request to write about my services for two very helpful reasons. First, I would like to know how your experience was and if there is any additional information you would like to share. Second, testimonials can help other people who are interested, decide which service is right for them.

The information that would be helpful is: What was the experience like for you? Did you enter the session with any expectations? If you did, how was your experience compared to your expectations? You can add any additional information you would like.

I appreciate whatever you feel comfortable sharing. If you do not want to share your experience, you can delete the email. If you would like to share your experience with me but do not want it made public, you can write that at the top of your reply and I will not post it.

Testimonials may appear on any of the outlets (My website, facebook, etc.) I use for my business including advertising. I may  display the entire testimonial or will take clips of it to display on those outlets for space restrictions. Not all testimonials submitted may be displayed.

You can contact me with any additional questions you have before signing up for services.
